Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Military Service - 735 Words

The military force of the United States is here to protect the country and the people in the United States. Many countries overseas have mandatory military service that a person must do. The countries do this to build their military and to keep their military strong. Even though these countries do like to keep their military strong, the men and women in the military may not be completely loyal to his or her country. In the United States the men and women that are not loyal to their country may create issues between other countries and conflicts between different people. If all eighteen-year-old men and women were to join the military, that may create conflicts with education, the quality of the military service, and it puts the young†¦show more content†¦Ã¢â‚¬Å"Unlike voluntary soldiers who are willing to undergo rigorous training and serve the country for a long time in the military, draft soldiers often lacks the necessary experience and preparedness, providing low combat skill quality when the time comes they are sent to war. This could lead to high casualty rate among soldiers drafted under compulsory military service† (â€Å"10 Meaningful Pros and Cons of Mandatory Military Service†). If a man or a woman were drafted into the military, he or she would not put in the time or effort versus a person that would if he or she volunteered for the military. When a person is forced into the military, he or she does not have the heart to serve. Next, most people are just simply not fit for the military. The people that are not fit for the military may not be mentally or physically fit to undergo an experience like combat. Being healthy is important to be in the military and for post military.
